Hi! I’m Anna Sparks, a mixed-media artist, analog photographer, UX designer, and creative community builder based in Seattle. My work lives at the intersection of texture, chance, and storytelling. Whether I’m layering paper into a collage, arranging found materials on the canvas, or shooting with my Holga or 35mm camera, I’m always looking for the beauty in imperfections — embracing the light leaks, double exposures, and unexpected fragments that are inevitable in life and art.
Much of my inspiration comes from the world around me: the lines of architecture, the rhythm of street art, the layers of a city wall, or the way music reshapes a space. I’ve always been drawn to moments that feel fleeting and honest, and I use my art to preserve them in a form that invites people to pause and see differently. For me, collage is a way to reconstruct narratives, while photography allows me to capture them as they unfold.
Community has always been at the heart of what I do. In Seattle, I co-founded the Stay Happy Collective, a creative group that supports artists, performers, and curators. I was also active in New York’s Camera of the Month Club, where I collaborated with other photographers to keep film culture alive. I believe that art is strongest when it’s shared, and that creating with and alongside others is just as important as what we make individually.
My work has been exhibited in a range of spaces, including Gallery B612, Bainbridge Arts & Crafts Museum, and SPACE Magnuson Park Gallery in Seattle, as well as Tieton Arts & Humanities in central Washington and Alterworks Studio in New York.
If you’re interested in collaborating, curating, or commissioning work, I’d love to hear from you! You can stay connected by joining my newsletter, where I share updates from the studio, upcoming exhibitions, and a glimpse behind the scenes of my creative process.
